Administrator's appointment record, 1821-[ongoing].

Under certain conditions, the probate courts, within their respective counties, have the authority to grant letters of administration on the estates of persons dying intestate (see Ala. Code, 43-2-40 [1975]). This series contains documents related to the appointment process. It includes petitions for letters of administration, the administrator's bond, and orders granting the letters of administration. This record began in 1821 and continues to the present.
